Littleton War Memorial Rose Garden 8-23-09

Spent Sunday morning at the Littleton War Memorial. I wish I had gone earlier in the season but I'm happy with the pictures I did get. I suggest watching as a slideshow when you view full Album. Enjoy

1st Pictures

So in my introduction I talked about how I chose my camera and why.

These are a few of the 1st photo's I took with my Nikon D60 out of the box once that dang battery charged. I hate the waiting period but I was happy with the results.

Rocks in a Flower Bed

More Rocks

Flower in a planter. Love to color lines

Flags. Wish the wind was blowing

Trees and Mountains

5 pretty good shots out of the box, not really knowing what I was doing. I'm very happy with the camera and its potential.

Introduction

Hello, my name is Jose and I live in Colorado. I have been married for 5 years to my lovely wife, Jennifer, and we have a beautiful daughter, Jasmine.

I recently decided to go back to college to get my Bachelors’ degree in photography.

With this decision to return to school I also had (J) to upgrade my photography equipment. I was using an Olympus SW750. Great camera, love the waterproof and tough features, won’t ever get rid of it but needed something with more MP’s so I produce some higher quality photos.

My wife and I met while working at Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida. We now return to Florida twice a year to visit the mouse. WDW has a system that has been in place for a few years called Photopass. What this entails is cast member are placed throughout the theme parks with camera and take your pictures. We have been buying CD’s of all the photos they take for years.

They use Nikon D40 cameras for all of these pictures and we have loved the quality. So when it came to buying a camera I immediately started to research the Nikon family. Since I love the quality of the D40 I somewhat knew what to expect. I was focusing in on the Nikon D5000 with the swivel LCD screen but at 899.00 with 30-55 lenses it was out of my price range.

I found a great deal on the D60 with 2 lenses, a camera bag, SD Card, and some DVDs and jumped on the deal. I’m very happy I did.

This blog will be focus in on random photo I take. Mainly stuff close to home but I'm planning on take extra and new trips to see what’s out there and photograph it.
Hope you enjoy the blog and comments are greatly appreciated.
